Awareness was given to students and the public of Hulikere, Belagola Hobi, Srirangapatna Taluk, Mandya district, on TB occurrence, spread, prevention and to eradication. An interaction was done with students to know their knowledge of TB. The students were educated on the causes of TB, the symptoms of TB and methods to analyse and diagnose TB. Adults were explained on comorbidities due to smoking and alcoholic habits along with TB. They have addressed how a healthy diet style and nutritional food can control and prevent TB. Both the programs a talk and awareness on TB were organized by the Department of Microbiology, JSS Academy of Higher Education on account of World Tuberculosis Day (March 24) whose main agenda is eradicating TB. A step was taken from the department to impart the knowledge of TB and recent developments to the research scholars, post- graduate students and faculties also as part of the 4 th SDG Goal i.e., Quality Education. TB is an infectious disease of international importance, and awareness was given to students and the public which relies on the 3 rd SDG goal i.e., good health and health being.
