JSSAHER DST STUTI workshop on Cytogenetics, cell and Molecular Biology inaugurated at JSS Hospital

The Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER) have jointly organized a workshop on “Cytogenetics, Cell, and Molecular Biology Techniques” from 18th to 24th June 2022 under the Department of Science & Technology – Synergistic Training program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (DST STUTI) scheme. This scheme is intended to build human resources and its knowledge capacity through open access to Science & Technology Infrastructure across the country.

The objective of this workshop is to provide training to the life science students in the field of cytogenetics, cell and molecular biology techniques used routinely in research and diagnostic settings. The workshop includes a series of lectures and hands-on training. Lectures will cover a wide range of topics from subject experts and scientists to give a flavor of ongoing research at JSSAHER as well as in other research institutes. The hands-on training is well designed to cover several basic techniques and is categorized under four different modules of Cytogenetics, Molecular diagnostics, Cell biology, and Gene expression studies. Thirty participants from different institutes across the country have been selected after scrutinizing their applications and are sponsored to attend the workshop. This is the third workshop being organized under the DST STUTI scheme from JSSAHER.
