The JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Deemed-to-be-University, received a grant of Rs. 1.16 crores from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) under the Synergistic Training program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI) scheme, Ministry of Science and Technology, to build human resources through skill training and capacity building and create awareness of science and technology infrastructure as well as showcasing cutting-edge research accomplishments among young students and faculty. JSS AHER is identified as a Project Management Unit (PMU) and is one of the 13 institutions in the country selected for the implementation of various science awareness programs and training activities throughout the year.

A week-long mega Science Awareness program supported by DST - STUTI got off to a start on the premises of JSS College for Women, Kollegal on 22nd Feb 2022 and the event is part of a nationwide initiative launched with the aim to spread Science popularization among semi-urban and rural students as a part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” signifying the celebration of the 75th year of independence. The authorities present at program were Prof. Morabada Mallikarjuna, Director, JSS College Education Division, JSS Mahavidyapeetha; Dr. M. N. Suma, Vice Principal & Dean, JSS Medical College, Mysuru; Dr. Prashant Vishwanath, Director (Research), JSS AHER; Shri Niranjana Murthy B., Asst. Director, JSS Mahavidyapeeta; Prof. Umesh, Principal, JSS College for Women, Kollegal. An overwhelming response to the event was marked by the participation of more than 200 women students.
