The Department of Pharmacology at JSS College of Pharmacy in Ooty, organised ‘DBT Sponsored Popular Lecture Series in Biotechnology on “Transgenic experimental models in Biomedical Research” between 29th to 30th October 2021. This program was organized for graduates, postgraduates, research scholars, scientists and academicians from Colleges & Universities from Pharmaceutical, Health and Life sciences disciplines. Dr. Anirban Chakraborthy, Professor & Director delivered an all-encompassing lecture on Zebrafish in Biomedical research. Following his, Dr. R. Vadivelan, Professor, JSS College of Pharmacy Ooty delivered a thought provoking lecture on Alternatives to Animal Testing. Lastly, Dr. Anurag Sharma, Assistant Professor (G-II) delivered an inclusive lecture on Drosophila melanogaster in Biomedical Research. This lecture series was conducted by Virtual mode with over 478 participants across the globe. Dr Praveen TK., Professor & Head of the department and Mr. B. Shivaramakrishnan, Assistant Professor, of the department convened and coordinated the programme.
