Special Interest Group on Biofilms in Clinical Settings and their Control conducted International Webinar on Biofilms: Health Aspects and Control Measures on Friday, 25 June 2021. About the Webinar: The ability of pathogens to form biofilms, on biotic and abiotic surfaces, makes it particularly resistant to host’s immune defences and recalcitrant to current antimicrobial regimes. Microbial biofilms in clinical settings play a significant role in infectious disease as these can colonize medical devices, stimulates chronic inflammatory response and delays wound healing. In this webinar series, we have keynote talks from international experts on important aspects of biofilms in human health. In the webinar, we will deliberate on the various existing and novel intervention strategies to control and manage biofilms by infectious pathogens in clinical settings, oral health care and food industry.
