JSS Hospital, Mysuru has launched a special clinic called, “Breathe Healthy”. This special clinic is an Interprofessional Collaboration between Dept of Paediatrics, Dept of Otorhinolaryngology of JSS Hospital and Dept of Orthodontics of JSS DC & Hospital, Mysore. This Interprofessional team will collaborate and provide Interprofessional management and care of children with Nasal Obstruction.
Nasal Obstruction is one of the commonest health disorders among children which will cause difficulty in breathing and its timely correction is very important for the normal growth and development of face, jaws and teeth. The clinic was inaugurated on 24th January 2019 at JSS Hospital lobby. The chief guest for the program was Sri Siddalinga Shivacharya Swamiji, (Sri Madh Vatalu Suryasimhasana Mahasamsthana Math), the Guest of Honour was Miss Kushi H (World Record Holder in Yoga). The special invitees included, Dr (Col) M. Dayanand, Director, JSS Hospital, Dr Guruswamy M, Medical Superintendent, JSS Hospital, Dr Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSSMC, Dr Kushalappa PA, Director (Academics), JSS AHER and Dr Ravindra S, Principal, JSS DC & H. The chief guest for the program, Sri Siddalinga Shivacharya Swamiji, appreciated this venture of having an Interprofessional collaborative clinic which will help the patients avail their entire treatment under one roof. The Guest of Honour, Miss Kushi H stressed on the importance of performing yoga for a healthy breathing and how yoga incorporated into our daily lives would add benefits in improving overall health of an individual.
The program was attended by faculty and staff of JSS Hospital and JSS DC & Hospital. The Out Patients of JSS Hospital also attended the event. To make them understand about the importance of “Breathe Healthy” special clinic, an informative speech was given to the OPD patients by Dr Bharathi MB, Professor, Dept of ENT, JSS Hospital. Also, informative pamphlets on Nasal obstruction and about the functionality of special clinic, “Breathe Healthy” was distributed among the OPD patients.
