Division of Cognitive Neuroscience
This Division aims to train the students to Human organization of the nervous system and functional of brain from cognitive perspective. Also, the neural mechanisms involved in the development of memory, language, spatial cognition, object perception, executive functions, and attention would be studied. The method researchers use to study developmental cognitive science, including metabolic measures, electrophysiological techniques (including biofeedback, neurofeedback, EEG and ERPS) would be discussed in detail. An emphasis is also laid on the computational intelligence and its relation to cognitive science. The course work also focuses on the socio-cognitive components of decision-making, Attitudes of the Human etc. Cognition is the process by which one acquires processes, stores and acts on information from the environment. The fourth semester exclusively involves project work for students to undertake research in their area of interest under the supervision of guide.
In total, the students get a chance to shape his/her career in modern life science research though their Cognitive approach. The aim is to provide students experience in research design, data analysis and interpretation. In this division offering one more Programme B.Sc Psychology, The B. Sc Psychology is an undergraduate course. This course will start with a basic overview of Understanding human behavior in General psychology and Developmental psychology. Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given environment.
Also the involved in the development of memory, language, cognition, perception, executive functions, and attention would be studied. The disorder use to study Abnormal psychology, include personality disorder, developmental disorder, and mental retardation, it would be discussed in detail. An emphasis industrial psychology is also laid on the relation to psychology. The course work also focuses on the socio-psychology components of decision-making, etc. A separate paper is dedicated to counseling and guidance, involving the counseling methods, types of counseling its relation to psychology. The aim is to provide students to observe and understand human behaviors and conduct assessment and give counseling to them.
