Welcome Address by Dr. H. Basavanagowdappa

At JSS AHER, we believe that excellence in healthcare extends far beyond treating diseases. It requires innovation, leadership, continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of medicine blended with technological advances. Today's initiatives embody that philosophy. These initiatives reaffirm our commitment to create professionals who are not only clinically competent but also visionary leaders capable of shaping the future of healthcare with technological assistance.

JSS GIFT — the Global Institute of Future Technologies — symbolizes our commitment to nurturing innovation, creativity and transformational thinking. Creating the planners, innovators and technocrats of the future is the key objective of this institute. The details of JSS GIFT will be provided by Dr. P. Nagabhushan. Today we have Dr. R. Balasubramanian, member of NITI Aayog, to inaugurate this institute.

Dr. Balasubramanian is known for critical thinking, and he has done enormous work and contributed to societal development and nation-building, with his firsthand experience of working at the grassroots level in tribal healthcare at Saragur. We are very fortunate to have him do this wonderful job of inaugurating this new institute. We welcome him for this program wholeheartedly on behalf of all of you here.

I welcome Dr. P. Nagabhushan, who has joined here as Professor Emeritus — welcome back to JSS, sir. You started your career as Professor and Head of Computer Science at SJCE, and then later moved to become Professor and Head of Computer Science at Mysore University. Then you became Director of IIIT Allahabad, and then Vice Chancellor of VIGNAN’s University. With all that experience, you have come back to enrich us and initiate this new institute, JSS GIFT. Welcome to you.
