We are committed to leaving. Everyday happens to be source and witness of the history of the future. So also, is this day!. Honorable dignitaries on the stage, all grand well-wishers, promoters and patrons;
In the illuminating presence of all of you and the blissful divine presence of Poojya Swamiji, may I make a reference to the holy vision laid down by the JSS Mahavidyapeetha “Touching the lives of millions through sustainable human development”, which appears to have been carved from the very strong foundation for education laid down by the Founder - Divyaguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji. The vision happens to be growing stronger and stronger because of the spiritual commitment by the present pontiff, Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, whose emphasis is to further decorate the vision to be sustainable, future focused and to elevate the generation to step into not yet born tomorrow, a tomorrow which cannot probably fall into the folds of any and all extrapolative imaginations.
This is the backdrop, which is the inspiration for the birth of a glittering silver line for inventing the futuristic academic center, namely JSS GIFT – JSS Global Institute for Future Technologies as an innovative addition in JSS Academy of Higher Education, the launch of which is going to be witnessed by this beautiful evening of 1st July 2026.
JSS GIFT is not yet another Engineering institution, but it is a JSS GIFT to define a new dimension to the Engineering and Technological Education to take along not just the local neighborhood, but the entire human sphere into, the to be happening tomorrow. That is how the two ingredients – Global and Future, in the title of the institution, are very timely and appropriate.
I take immense pleasure in congratulating and recognizing the foresightedness of Honorable Chancellor Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Honorable Pro-Chancellor Dr. Suresh Bhojaraj, Honorable Vice Chancellor Dr. Basavanagowdappa and their respective entire teams. I also recognize the administrative patronage and support being rendered by the Executive Secretary Dr. Betsurmath, the Registrar Dr. Manjunatha B. and their teams. I recognize the role being played by Dean Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta and his team in executing this project.
The spiritual guidance being provided by the Revered Pontiff, surely propels the JSS GIFT to be a beautiful JSS GIFT to the generation and to the future; because the vision is in-built in the etymological origin of the very word Pontiff, which originates from the Latin word PONTI FEX; ‘pons’ standing for bridge and ‘fex’ standing for maker. Thus, JSS GIFT symbolizes BRIDGE BUILDER, bridging the Globe to the Future.
The mission for the institution can be found in the quote by Albert Einstein – “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.” JSS GIFT owes to realize this concept of imagination to make the present generation step into future, by imbibing intelligence into technologies.
All of us are aware that JSS AHER caters to the study and practice of Medical, Pharmaceutical, Dental and Biological Sciences. As such, the university provides fertile domain knowledge and data, which are essential oils, to make the technologies intelligent. Natural intelligence together with supporting intelligent technologies would be mutually complementing components in JSS GIFT to create futuristic intelligent technologies. The infusion of JSS GIFT in JSS Academy for Higher Education will strengthen the University to become truly multidisciplinary.
The words GLOBAL and FUTURE in the name of the institution will keep reminding everyone of us that the institution cannot become complacent, saturated or obsolete, and therefore, it becomes a challenge for learning – a learning, which should be composed of Critically Thinking, Carefully Researching and Crucially Shaping the imagination. Obviously, if FUTURE must shine, our minds should burn now - as expressed by Honorable Abdul Kalam. Abdul Kalam’s quote – “Dream is not that which you see while sleeping; it is something that does not let you sleep” will indicate the mission for every learner and researcher in the JSS GIFT to be on toes for intelligent realization of imagination through futuristic technologies.
The Technology of Future Globe is not going to be conventional Engineering, which was in practice till day.
Futuristic technology is going to be one of the two models, either AI + X + Data or X + Data + AI, where X stands for domain of knowledge, which by itself happens to be cross disciplinary or interdisciplinary. Either AI influences and deploys domain and its data corpse or data corpse of the domain influences and directs AI.
I cannot resist, on this day of Doctor's Day, telling you that tomorrow there shall be very intelligent nano- and micro-bots which will be in our circulatory system, in our respiratory system, which will make it possible that there shall not be any open-heart surgery, and there shall not even be stitches required, because these intelligent micro- and nano-bots which are inside shall be doing all the work.
That is going to be the day of intelligence — that is the type of domain in which artificial intelligence would be touching.
The newly designed JSS GIFT aptly takes care of both models. Accordingly marching with the first step, JSS GIFT announces the launch of two new, innovative streams of study in
These programs will have multiple entry, re-entry and multiple exit options for the award of B.Sc., B.Sc. Hons., M.Sc. and M.Sc. Honors degrees.
The institute concurrently announces the start of Ph.D. programs also.
In all, assuring that JSS GIFT shall produce technocrats for future who will be ‘Creatively Critical to be Critically Creative’;
