Pro-Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research

We are committed to leaving My respectful pranams to the lotus feet of his holiness swamiji who graced this program and blessed us at the all the inaugurations respected honorable minister Dr. Yatindra Sidramaya ji our well-wisher of our institution mentor in many ways to many of us Dr. R. Balasubramanian member of NITI Aayog again our Srivathsa ji has been always there a part of our JSS institution in all its activities and Dr. Betsurmath our executive secretary and my colleagues on the dais, and of the dais, invitees honorable former vice chancellor of Kuvempu University Dr. K Chidananda Gowda who's here with us and many other colleagues from our sister universities staff faculty and invitees members of the press and electronic media.

JSS AHER

I think if you want to see the future let us think out of the box and see what needs to be done and that's where the idea of origination of the JSS Global Institute for Future Technologies is the education development for growth and excellence.

Now for some people it may look as a a normal activity of an institution starting programs institutes and perhaps expanding their catalog. Okay we do this also we do this also like that but no it is not that there is a purpose behind what we are doing. It's not another assembly line. I call that today institutions have become assembly line. You give them a prescribed syllabus. The students go through the syllabus. They go out and they need to be placed. The job ends there for the institution. The creation of knowledge, the new ideas, innovations have become almost a standstill with the large number of institutions coming across and the original thinkers, creators, innovators have been diminishing in the I can say definitely in the past 20, 25 years I have seen with the large growth of institutions numbers are there quality seems to be always a challenge.

When we are looking at this, I think this is where we want to differentiate, we don't want to be an assembly line producing more engineering graduates and more this thing but to create creators’ thinkers’ innovators’ leaders as you mentioned. So this is what we wanted to do through this exercise. Now when we talk of creating creators’ thinkers’ innovators. our Dr. Nagabhushan clearly explained that how global institute of future technologies is going to train young aspirational students into their future thinking process that is we'll offer M.Sc. programs maybe we'll offer engineering programs or B.Tech. programs but with a difference not the usual run-of-the-mill type of programs we’ll not be looking at so that will be there okay that produces a generation which is going to be expert or skills.

Now we all are repeatedly hearing AI, artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductor industry is coming. All this is happening and Mysore is being spoken quite a lot about it that electronics industry is going to come to Mysore. The semiconductor industries are going to be here, and lot of technology companies are moving to Mysore. When we talk about technology in those days Silicon Valley of India was Bangalore always it was Bangalore and we are now looking beyond Bangalore what is there I think when we people are looking beyond Bangalore it should be Mysore so that is the vision with which we are looking at that this effort which is happening whether the industry it is there are creating a manpower which is going to be ready is going to be the Mysore is going to be the hub.

Now I'll go a little closer in Mysore where it should this should be available. It should be available in Varuna constituency in our global campus coming there. JSS AHER global campus should be housing this future and so we would like to see when somebody talks about future technologies, they should look at Varuna and Mysore and Bangalore in that sequence. First, they should think about this side is what I would like to mention here.

And lastly I would like to add a few thoughts you know today when we talked about biotechnology in those days you thought about biology and you thought about something about molecular biology biochemistry if you knew biotechnology is over and then you went but same biotechnology you talk today you have to have an understanding of an analyzing the genetic data metadata which is available to you then for analyzing that genetic metadata you need artificial intelligence For using artificial intelligence you need quantum computing and semiconductors high powered semiconductors are required to get an interpretation out of it the computing high level computing capacities are required.

So, all these things, if it is offered to you in one program what you will be you will be a superman like Rajnikanth you can do anything after that. So, the idea is we will be training our graduates in this type of open approach that you can create your program in a way based on your domain interest. Bring like what you said add your domain knowledge, add the AI knowledge which you want to it add the data knowledge you want to do it and then try to become a professional who is not talking about doing for a job which is existing today. What jobs I am talking do not exist know but when he graduates and comes out, he will be creating those jobs and he'll be creating his own position.

So here at JSS AHER we do not want to train people to predict future because that everybody does it know we want people to be trained who can create the future which we are looking for Karnataka for Mysore and for our own people and at the large at the national level we would like to work.

Our team is wonderful team I am always proud of our teams. Yeah, they are ready to give 24 / 7 in all the activities which we planned. So, we are there with the nation building Karnataka building and every regional building also will partner and we look forward to seeing how we can move forward.

I congratulate all my team members vice chancellor registrar professor Dr. Nagabhushan, Dr. Vikram Patel, Dr. Madu and all my colleagues who were there like including our young friends who joined in later the technologists who were there everybody put in their head and everybody put in their effort and we are standing today. Thank you all for wonderful things and those who were not mentioned the names also please excuse me you all are there in my heart. All of you have contributed towards this new unique thing which you are doing.

I would like to thank here particularly our Swamiji because having a vision or sharing a thought is one thing but somebody believing in you is something very very scary like what he was telling when he said that okay do it I was scared now how are we going to deliver it even the date was fixed he said I have fixed the chief guest now you deliver now came back and told now what do we do how do we go about Great. And thanks to Excel soft, they gave it in a record time of three and three and half weeks I think the excel soft team is somewhere here. Put up your hand there. yeah, always helping from the back in the technology. The excel soft team they put together in three and a half weeks this whole thing for us and today we are launching it.

Thank you very much for all the support and I will stop here. I can speak another 1 hour but I know the constraint of our time. Thank you all and let us dream together. Let us create the future from Mysore, from Varuna and from JSS AHER. Thank you very much.
