Dental education in India has made tremendous progress and is heading towards advancement in every aspect, bringing revolutionary changes in the present scope and sphere of oral health. Outcome based education is student centered learning philosophy that focuses on empirically measuring student performance “outcomes” (goals). By end of the educational experience, each student should have achieved the goal. It represents the most important development in education in the past two decades.

In this regard two-day workshop titled “Outcome Based Curriculum Framework” was conducted by the dept. of Oral Medicine & Radiology, JSS Dental College & Hospital, under the aegis of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research on 24 & 25 of May 2019 at Gowrishankara Auditorium, JSSDCH.

The workshop was inaugurated by Dr R Sudheendra Bhat, Controller of examinations, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. The workshop was successfully steered by Dr Ajay Telang, Dean, Penang International Dental College, Malaysia. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Dental Faculty to stay abreast with the progressive global educational philosophies. The dental faculty were trained in designing & redesigning the learning outcomes, curriculum outcomes, program outcomes and on overview of fundamentals of learning taxonomy.
