Introduction
An Anti-Ragging Awareness Program was held on November 23rd , 2024, at JSS Dental College and Hospital, Mysore, aimed at educating students about the dangers of ragging and fostering a campus environment free from such incidents. The program was organized by the college's Anti Ragging committee along with the collaboration of law enforcement, ensuring that students were made aware of both the legal and ethical dimensions of ragging
The event commenced with an introduction by Dr. Dhakshaini MR, the Principal of JSS Dental College and Hospital, followed by impactful speeches from the chief guest, Dr. Shiv Sharan, member of Dental Council of India and Vice president of Indian Dental association , and SI Ganesh, a police officer from NR Mohalla Police Station
The program successfully conveyed the message that ragging is a serious issue with both legal and psychological consequences. The informative speeches by Dr. Shiv Sharan and SI Mr.Ganesh, along with the interactive session, equipped students with the knowledge to recognize and report ragging incidents
The program concluded with a renewed commitment from all students, faculty, and staff to work collectively towards maintaining a safe and harmonious campus environment. JSS Dental College and Hospital continues to stand firm in its zero-tolerance policy against ragging, ensuring that the college remains a safe haven for academic and personal growth
