A field visit to Seth Mohandas Tulasidas Maternal and Children's Hospital, Mysuru, was organized for second-semester Master of Public Health (MPH) students on July 24th, 2024. The visit provided an exposure and practical insights into the Maternal and Child Health specialty, focusing on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, and Adolescent Health (RMNCH+A) services and programs. Students toured various sections and units, including the antenatal and postnatal wards, and interacted with the antenatal, post-operative and post delivered mothers in these wards. They observed a range of health services, such as maternal and child healthcare departments, immunizations, and the New Born Care Corner (NBCC). Hospital staff in each ward and department explained and discussed the services provided and staffing pattern. This hands-on experience enriched the students' understanding of public health operations and emphasized the importance of integrating community-based approaches in public health practice concerning RMNCH+A services.
