On 13th December, 2018, Dr. Subhas Malghan, spoke about various areas covering the operations and modern advances in the working of pharmaceutical governing bodies. He explained the organizational layout of the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA), giving much importance to the branches of the Center for Drug and Radiological Health (CDRH) and its working. He also briefed upon the complexities of medical device manufacturing and development of feasible processes for evaluation of products. Covering the area of Nanotechnology, he brought out the different ways it is viewed by the governing bodies, mainly the FDA. He recalled his role as a co-author for USFDA of nanotechnology. He interacted with the students and cleared their doubts about medical device manufacturing and packaging. He concluded the session by sharing his experiences in understanding and tackling problems in the automobile, aerospace and pharmaceutical industries. He advised the students to develop and maintain scientific skills and work towards the betterment of the profession.
