Dr Anthony K. Wutoh, Provost, Howard University, USA

Anthony K. Wutoh, Ph.D., R.Ph. is the Provost of Howard University. He previously served in various roles at the University including as Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Assistant Provost for International Programs. Dr. Wutoh has also served as Director for the Center for Minority Health Services Research, and the Center of Excellence. Dr. Wutoh has varied research interests including pharmacoepidemiology, international health, health services/outcomes research, and evaluation of large population databases, particularly in the area of AIDS and HIV infection in older patients. Dr. Wutoh has led, and participated in various international programs including sponsored projects (USAID, CDC, PEPFAR, etc.) in Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Ghana, etc. Dr. Wutoh has been a practicing pharmacist in Maryland since 1990 and has worked in various settings including hospital, retail, consulting, and community pharmacy, as well as academia.

In 1993, He served as a policy intern with the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging where he was directed with evaluation of the economic impact of health care reform on the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. His other areas of interest and expertise include minority access to novel medical therapies, medicaƟon compliance, post markeƟng assessment, clinical trial protocol and evaluation, survival analyses, and the role of stress in the functioning of health care professionals. He is also the recipient of various awards and acclamations including the 1998 Excellence Award for Professor in the Division of Pharmacy, the 2007 Distinguished Faculty Award from the HU Pharmacy Alumni Association, and the 2017 Edward Bouchet Legacy Award.

Dr Krishna Kumar, Professor, College of Pharmacy, Howard University

Dr. Krishna Kumar is professor of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics at the College of Pharmacy, Howard University, Washington DC. His research interests include Characterization of biomarkers and developing epigenetic profile of African Americans as related to hypertension, cancer and other chronic diseases, Nano-particles as intelligent tools for Nano-medicine, use of these vehicles for delivery of anti-cancer drugs and anti HIV drugs, formulation of dosage forms, bioavailability and bioequivalence, and population Pharmacokinetic modeling. Dr. Kumar moved to Howard University from California where he helped start a new college of Pharmacy at the Western University of Health Sciences and served as the founding Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Scholarship. He has also held academic positions in New Zealand, Australia and India. He serves as Pharmaceutical consultant to Pharmaceutical Industries in US, India and China on matters related to API characterization, formulation, pharmacokinetics, bioequivalence and bioavailability matters. He has also worked in West Africa, China and India as an educational consultant

Anshul Sharma is presently the Counsellor (Education & Community Affairs) at the Embassy of India in Washington DC. In the past, his work touched on a broad array of disciplines, including Commerce, Economic, Consular and Education matters. He joined his present assignment in Washington DC in January 2019.

Dr. Surinder Singh,
Vice-Chancellor, JSS AHER, Mysuru

Dr Surinder Singh is a Medical graduate, MD in Microbiology and, has about 33 years of professional experience in different aspects of Drug Regulatory planning & administration, has served as Drugs Controller General (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, Director, National Institute of Biologicals (NIB), I Director, Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory, Chandigarh, Additional Director, Central Drugs Lab (CDL), Central Research Institute, Kasauli.

Dr Singh has conceptualised, planned, implemented and coordinated four national programmes, i.e. Pharmacovigilance Programme of India in 2010-11, Haemovigilance Programme of India in 2012, National Blood Donor Vigilance Programme of India n 2015 and National Drugs Survey in 2014-16.

He is also the Co-ordinator for World Health Organization virtual Programs on cGMP and Mentorship for Pharma and Medical devices Units from India. He has also co-ordinated World Health Organization online training programs on Haemovigilance and Blood Components Separation and Plasma Fractionation for WHO – South East Asian Region Countries.

MS. Tonija Hope Director, Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center, Howard University, USA

A native Washingtonian, with over 20 years of experience in the international exchange, international education, and management fields, Ms. Hope oversees the day-to-day operations of all programs and activities at the Ralph J. Bunche International Affairs Center at Howard University, including study abroad, global programming, and the Patricia Roberts Harris Public Affairs Fellowship program. She provides support to the Charles Rangel, Thomas Pickering, and Donald Payne fellowships sponsored by the US Department of State and USAID. Previously, Ms. Hope served as the Executive Director of the Baoba Fund for Racial Equity-North America, a Brazilian foundation, and before that at Phelps Stokes, a DC-based international NGO. Ms. Hope received her BA in Latin American Studies/History from Macalester College and her Master’s in Tourism Administration with a specialization in International Education from George Washington University. Currently, Ms. Hope is a PhD student in Howard University’s Higher Education Leadership and Policy Studies program where here research focuses on the intersection of internationalization and social justice, particularly at HBCUs.

Dr Anil S Bilimale, Assistant Professor

The ultimate motto of my life is to empower and enable people to experience an optimum state of health, happiness, and prosperity. I am a mid-career professional with experience of nine years in public health from two continents, four years in teaching and research, and one year in clinical medical practice. I have a professional degree in medicine and have done a residency program in public health and preventive medicine. I have  versatile field and research experience in health systems, health policy, epidemiology, infectious diseases, RMNCH+A (Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, and Adolescent Health), immunization, quality assurance, disease surveillance, program management, project implementation, operations, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, administration, and financial management in public health programs.

Kyrone J. Davis, Ed.D., M.H.S.A.

Kyrone J. Davis, Ed.D., M.H.S.A. is a scholar-practitioner with an extensive background in a variety of healthcare and educational settings. His work with the District of Columbia Department of Mental Health included teaching the core curriculum for the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Program, evidenced-based recommendations for nursing practice, continuing education and training management, and membership on the Dual-Diagnosis Treatment Team. As a consultant with the United States Department of Agriculture APHIS Modernization Project, he provided evidence-based recommendations for 21st Century healthcare leadership and management best practices.

As a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, Dr. Davis trained at the Academy of Health Sciences Center for Health Education and Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX. He went on to serve at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center as a Healthcare Specialist and Combat Medic responsible for a wide array of healthcare management services. Until recently, Dr. Davis was a faculty member of George Mason University, Webster University, and Florida Institute of Technology where he was awarded the Outstanding Faculty Feature for teaching excellence and service to the Nathan M. Bisk College of Business Department of Extended Studies National Capital Region. Dr. Davis is affiliated with an array of academic and professional organizations and was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees for Leonard Hall Junior Naval Academy.

Dr. Davis earned his Ed.D. in Human and Organizational Learning - Executive Leadership Focus from The George Washington University (2014). He earned his M.H.S.A. in Health Services Administration (2009) and B.S. in Computer Information Systems (2007) from Strayer University. He enjoys reading, writing, running, and engaging in paideia as a way of life.

Dr. Sadagoban G K

Dr.Sadagoban is an Indian academician with expertise in pharmacoeconomics & pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacotherapy. He is the BOS member of JSSAHER- Faculty of Pharmacy and a working member of ACPE-USA, NAAC, NBA, SWAYAM, faculty in-charge of DIC and ABS member of Govt Medical Hospital, Ooty. He acts as CEO of an online Indian Pharmacist Professionals Forum - PharmD Info. Furthermore, he involved in conducting various pedagogical activities such as simulation & modular teaching, OSCE, and training APPE students on medication management services at point of care and interdisciplinary practice and heath outcome researches.

Ebony Isis Evans, PharmD

Dr. Ebony Evans is from Hempstead, NY and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. Upon graduation she completed her PGY-1 Community Residency with Western New England University followed by a PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Residency at The University of Maryland. She joined Howard University College of Pharmacy as a Clinical Assistant Professor in 2021 and maintains an outpatient practice site at the Howard University Hospital Diabetes Treatment Center. Her professional interests are in ambulatory care and academia; and she is very passionate about improving health literacy amongst patients, helping underserved communities, and motivational interviewing.

Dr (Col) Dayanand M

Dr. (Col) M. Dayananda, The Director of JSS Hospital, is an MBBS graduate from JJM Medical College, Mysore University 1976, Mysuru. He holds a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, 1993. Dr. (Col) M. Dayananda comes with a wide experience in the field of Hospital Administration and has served in various hospitals across the country. Also, he served as an Instructor in Officer’s Training Academy, Army Medical Corps Centre, Lucknow.

He is an Advisory Committee Member, Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi, which is presently developing quality standards for the Hospitals in India. He has edited a handbook on Management of Military hospitals.

His last assignment was in the capacity of Medical Superintendents of Kasturba Manipal Hospital and Chief Operating Officer of all teaching hospitals of Manipal University and Sikkim Manipal University.

Chimene Castor, Ph.D., EdD, RDN, LDN, CHES, FAND

Chimene Castor, Ph.D., EdD, RDN, LDN, CHES, FAND is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nutritional Sciences in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences at Howard University. Dr. Castor is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist(RDN) with 20 years of experience working in hospitals, Nursing homes, and the community. She is also a certified health education specialist (CHES), Diabetes Prevention Lifestyle Coach, and Advanced Certified Telehealth Professional (ACTTP). Dr. Castor specialized in preventing prediabetes and managing diabetes and diabetesrelated complications in Black women. She worked in several countries to address nutritional health, such as South Africa, Kenya, Jamaica, Haiti, Tobago, Ghana, Benin, and Togo. Dr. Castor is the founder of Sowing Seeds Inc. non-profit organization working to provide nutrition and educational support to children in Haiti and Kenya

Dr. Praveen Kulkarni

Dr Praveen Kulkarni is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research Mysuru. He is a Fellow of Foundation for Advancements in International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) and Alumni of Leadership and Management programme offered by INCLEN Trust and IIHMR, New Delhi. He has received several research grants from Government of India, Indian Council of Medical Research, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He has been recipient of Young Scientist Award from Karnataka Association of Community Health, Best Reviewer Award from Association for Physicians of India-Karnataka Chapter, Best Teacher Award from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Best Teacher Award (Clinical) from JSS College of Physiotherapy. He is an Associate Editor of International Journal of Health and Allied Sciences and Editorial Board member several national and international journals. Melissa L. Weir

Melissa L. Weir, Assistant Professor, Undergraduate Nursing program, Howard University. Credentials: PhD in Nursing Education, University of Northern Colorado; MS with specialization in Community Health Nursing and Nursing Education, Hampton University; BSN, Howard University; Certified Nurse Educator; Certified Emergency Nurse. Dr. Weir’s clinical experience spans 33 years in the areas of pediatric and adult trauma ER nursing, pediatric med-surg, and home health nursing. Dr. Weir’s publications include emergency nursing certification review texts, article on barriers to the academic nurse educator role, and dissertation that explored the state of the nursing academe related to social justice and educational equity.

Weir, Melissa Lillian. (2021). Academic Nurse Educator Attitudes Regarding Their Role Educating Ethnically and Racially Diverse Nursing Students: A Focused Ethnography. Published Doctor of Philosophy dissertation, University of Northern Colorado, 2021.

The purpose of this research was to explore academic nurse educator attitudes, specifically beliefs and values, regarding their role educating ethnically and racially diverse students through the lens of culturally relevant pedagogy. Focused ethnography methodology was applied to interview 14 academic nurse educators who provided insight into a subculture of nursing. Themes that emerged from data analysis included strengths perspective, teacher-student relationships, diversity as an asset, crucial or difficult conversations, and ethnicity and race setting the narrative. In addition, assimilation and white privilege were discussed due to compelling and varied responses from participants. The results of this research might influence nursing education and research.

Aside from the information gleaned from the attitudes about the faculty role, the study also added to methodological knowledge on the use of focused ethnography to explore the unique subculture of academic nurse educators. This exploration of nurse educators’ attitudes for the purpose of understanding their beliefs and values regarding their role demonstrated the importance of bringing key stakeholders to the table. This study contributed to the assessment of the state of the nursing academe in achieving the social justice mandate of nursing and, in this way, contributed to educational equity.

Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta

Dr Vishal Kumar Gupta is working as Deputy Director (Academics) at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru. He co-ordinates the internationalization and collaborative efforts at JSS AHER, Mysuru. He has completed his graduate, post graduate and Doctoral studies in Pharmacy. In his more than 18 years of teaching, research and administrative experience, he has led various quality initiatives in education, management and scholarly at institutional and university level. He has published more than 140 scientific papers in peer reviewed national and international journals. He has also published a book. He has guided 40 PG, 04 Doctoral students and presently guiding 05 research scholars. He is member of various professional national and international organizations and won various national and international accolades for his contributions to the profession of Pharmacy.

Dr Toyin Tofade

Since 2016, Tofade has served as the Dean and Professor at the Howard University College of Pharmacy in Washington, D.C. During her tenure, the College has nearly doubled enrollment for the class of 2021; doubled the number of student internships; expanded clinical, industrial, and international partnerships; and received the maximum number of Accrediation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) reaccreditation years possible. Under her leadership, the College diversified its faculty composition and expertise; revised the curriculum which has led to improved educational outcomes; entered into a one-of-a-kind partnership with the FDA and Glaxo to provide fellowship opportunities in regulatory affairs and policy; and established residencies with Walgreens and Trusted Health Plan. Multiple partnerships with pharmaceutical industry yielding postdoctoral fellowship opportuntites for Howard graduates have been created under her leadership. Additionally, alumni giving increased by over 70% from 2016 to 2021, with giving in 2022 alone over $1M. The student pharmacy residency match rate increased from 36% in 2016 to 70% in 2022. Lastly, the College grew its international partnerships from five in 2016 to 18 in 2021, spanning 16 countries and 6 continents. All of these accomplishments contributed to the College rising 23 spots and being ranked as the #1 pharmacy school among historically Black colleges or universities (HBCUs) on the US News and World Report pharmacy school rankings in 2021.

A leader in global professional pharmacy organizations, Tofade was appointed in 2020 as president-elect of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) academic pharmacy section. FIP is the global federation representing over four million pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists worldwide. In 2018, Tofade was the first Black woman to be named an FIP Fellow, which recognizes those who have exhibited strong leadership internationally, distinguished themselves in pharmaceutical sciences and/or practice of pharmacy, contributed to advancement of pharmaceutical sciences and/or practice of pharmacy, and who have served FIP. She also serves as an advisory member for the FIP academic institutional membership group (AIM), the program planning committee and the workforce education hub as lead for the leadership development goal (WDG6).

On the national front, she was appointed as chair-elect of the council of deans, board member for the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy in 2020, and has participated on a variety of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion taskforces nationally. She has been an active member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP). She served on the ASHP Opioid taskforce, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Taskforce, and the Editorial Advisory Board member for the American Journal for Health-systems Pharmacists (AJHP). Locally, Tofade has worked with pharmacy organization leaders, the board of pharmacy, and elected leaders in the District of Columbia to influence changes to policy regarding the role of the pharmacist in COVID vaccinations during the pandemic and the scope of pharmacy practice in the district.

Tofade has received numerous awards, including the ASHP 2022 Board of Directors’ Donald E. Francke Medal which honors pharmacists who have made significant international contributions to advance pharmacy practice. In 2021, her alma matter, University of North Carolina (UNC) Eshelman School of Pharmacy, honored her with the Pharmacy Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award. In 2020 she received the A. Richard Bliss Jr. Grand Council Citation of Appreciation Award given by Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. This award is a form of superior recognition for most extraordinary contributions to the Fraternity or Profession by either Members of the Fraternity or non-members. As a nonmember, this was an honor bestowed on her due to her students’ nomination in appreciation of her dedicated service to the College and profession at large. In 2019, she received the Fred M. Eckel Pharmacy Leadership Award by the University of North Carolina (UNC) Eshelman School of Pharmacy and UNC Hospitals. This award honors an individual associated with the University of North Carolina Hospitals and Clinics post-graduate pharmacy training programs who has demonstrated sustained professional contributions to pharmacy practice throughout his or her career. In 2018, Dr. Tofade received a Distinguished Service Award in appreciation for leadership in Pharmacy Education and presentation at the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas, Inc. (NAPPSA) Scientific Conference.

Prior to her tenure at Howard University, Tofade served in multiple roles at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy (UMSOP) in Baltimore, including Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science, Associate Director, and Assistant Dean of the Experiential Learning Program. She was also employed at University of North Carolina (UNC) hospitals for several years as a pharmacist, as a clinical specialist on the general medicine service, and as Director of Pharmacotherapy Services at the Wake Area Health Education Center (AHEC).

Tofade received a bachelor’s in pharmacy (B.Pharm.) from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria; a master’s science (M.S.) in pharmacy practice and a doctor of pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from UNC at Chapel Hill. She completed a residency with emphasis on clinical pharmacokinetics from UNC Chapel Hill, and an American Society of Health-System Pharmacy-accredited residency at UNC hospitals. She is a certified professional coactive coach and completed the Academic Leadership Academy from the Academic Leadership Institute at Penn State in 2016, the Management Development Program from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2017, and the Crises Leadership in Higher Education from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2020. She has published several papers and given presentations on a variety of topics nationally and internationally.

Dr. Bhagyalakshmi

Dr. Bhagyalakshmi Avinash completed her BDS in 2003, MDS in 2007 from Government Dental College & Research Centre, Bangalore, Ph.D. in 2017 from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research and FAIMER Fellowship (Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education & Research) from MAHE, Manipal in the year 2020. She is presently a Reader with a teaching experience of 14 years. She is a recognized Ph.D. and PG Guide. Her areas of interest include Invisible Orthodontics & Airway Orthodontics, she is a Consultant at Breathe Healthy, Special Clinic, JSS Hospital, which is an Interprofessional Healthcare Team. Having a FAIMER fellowship to her credit, she shows a keen interest in Interprofessional Collaborative Projects.

Elizabeth Ricks, PhD

Dr. Elizabeth Ricks is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development and Psychoeducational Studies at Howard University. She currently teaches courses that focus on youth placed at risk and resiliency, parent-child relationships, and research methods. Dr. Ricks’ research focuses on classroom contextual factors that contribute to the development of self-efficacy, approaches to learning and mathematics achievement in young children. Dr. Ricks earned a PhD in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Educational Policy from Howard University. Dr. Ricks is currently working on projects that examines within-group variation in social-emotional and cognitive development among African American children.

Dr. Prashanth V

Dr. Prashant Vishwanath graduated with MBBS degree from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Wardha in the year 2000 and obtained his post-graduation in MD Biochemistry from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in the year 2005 and Ph.D. from the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research in the year 2018. He is the Convener of the Centre for Lifelong Learning for Professional Excellence (CCLPE) and has completed a two-year Foundation for Advancement in International Medical Education & Research (FAIMER) fellowship in the year 2012 and has also pursued his Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) from St John’s Regional institute in 2017 and has several innovations in teaching learning pedagogies to his credit.

He has been instrumental in the implementation of the CBME curriculum and planning and implementation of the Online teaching activities at JSS Medical College.He has played a pivotal role in establishing the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology and Regenerative Medicine (CEMR) in the Department of Biochemistry which has funding of up to 25 crores from various funding agencies like DST, DBT, ICMR and Vision group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. He has about 57 publications in reputed journals and is a peer reviewer for more than 18 journals. He has served on many additional posts like NSS Programme Officer, Cultural and Sports Coordinator, Chief Editor (Magazine Committee) Incharge for Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory and is also the Associate Editor of International Journal of Health & Allied Sciences (IJHAS).

He is currently holding additional responsibilities as Director of Research & Coordinator of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research. He has been a part of the Audit teams for NAAC accreditation and has visited several institutions across India as a part of the Assessment and Accreditation process. He is an active member and President Elect. of the Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBI) and believes "Action has more to deliver than words".

Morris Thomas

Dr. Morris Thomas is responsible for providing visionary, strategic, and operational leadership for the Office of Digital and Online Learning and the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning and Assessment (CETLA). Dr. Thomas has an extensive background in facilitating learning across modalities. Dr. Thomas employs Quality Matters, the leading quality assurance organization for online and blended course design. He holds several Quality Matters certifications and serves on the Quality Matters Academic Advisory Council. Dr. Thomas is an established scholar and has developed two instructional frameworks, the E.N.H.A.N.C.E. Learning Model and "The W.H.O.L.E. Experience."

Dr. Arun K P

Dr. Arun KP has about 26 years of teaching experience in Pharmacy. He was a ‘Pharmabridge’ fellow of FIP and undergone training in ‘Pediatric Clinical Pharmacy Practice’ at CHEO, Ottawa, Canada. He attended the Summer School on Pharmacometrics of Uppsala University, Sweden in 2013 with scholarship from M/s. Novartis. He has guided 25 post graduate theses and supervising 6 PhD scholars. He has 45 publications in peer reviewed journals and co-authored a chapter in the ‘Encyclopedia of Pharmacy Practice’ published by Elsevier. He is the member of curriculum committees at national level and passionate about benchmarking the quality of education.

Salter, Reginald

Dr. Reginald Salter was raised in rural Georgia and grew up in a home where dental care was not an option due to family finances. Because of this, he knew in sixth grade he would pursue a career in dentistry. He committed to studying tirelessly in school and was awarded a scholarship to Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans where he received the Bachelor of Science. He went on to obtain a Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington DC. Dr. Salter completed residency in the U.S. Navy and served four years as Lieutenant in the Dental Corps. While strategizing his next move in life, he pursued and received the MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. Following his career in the Navy, Dr. Salter returned to the Washington metropolitan area to practice with the National Health Service Corps and eventually opened a private practice in Waldorf, Md.

Inspired by students seeking entry into dental school who often shadowed in his practice, Dr. Salter began spending his off day as an adjunct faculty member at the College of Dentistry at Howard University where he taught practice management and was a clinical instructor. He made the ultimate decision last year to retire from private practice after 20 years to pursue a career in dental education full time. In 2018, Dr. Salter defended his dissertation on learning styles and accommodations for dental students diagnosed with a learning disability to receive a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Northcentral University.

He is also passionate about serving communities where access to care is not optimal. Dr. Salter leads groups of students and alumni from Howard University to areas of Jamaica annually where this mission may be carried out.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Howard University where he serves as Director for Admissions and Student Activities. He is recipient of the professor of the year award in 2021 at the College of Dentistry. Pamela Brown-White

Dr. Pamela Brown-White, PT, MBA, DPT, NDTC is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Howard University. She earned her Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from Howard University, Washington, DC, Master’s in Business Administration from Winthrop University, Rock Hill, SC and Doctor of Physical Therapy from St. Scholastica University, Duluth, MN. Dr. Brown-White has practiced for over 25 years with specialization in the care of infants born prematurely and those with neurological dysfunction. Dr. Brown-White serves on the Mayor’s Commission on Early Childhood Development (SECDCC) and is a community advocate for equity in the provision of early intervention services in underserved communities.

With more than 40 years of experience in pharmacy education and in the pharmaceutical industry, I have an appreciation for both educational, and workforce, needs for national competitiveness. Currently, I serve as Chair of Pharmaceutical Sciences and have held positions in industry up to the level of Director. Many pharmaceutical companies, including one in India, have retained me as consultant over the years. I have 20 US patents plus international patents and have served as the lead on two novel US products. In addition, I have several publications and co-edited a book, Oral Mucosal Drug Delivery and Therapy.

Dr. Simon Wang is currently a tenured associate professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Howard University College of Pharmacy (HU COP). He also directs the Artificial Intelligence and Drug Discovery Core Laboratory for District of Columbia Center for AIDS Research (DC CFAR,

Dr. M. Ramesh, Professor & Head, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, is also heading the Clinical Pharmacy Department at JSS Medical College Hospital, Mysuru. He had graduated from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty in 1990, completed M. Pharm (Pharmacology) from the same institute in 1992. He was awarded Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences in April 2006 by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore. Also, he completed Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy from ‘The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia’, South Australia in 1998. He received ten months training in the area of Clinical Pharmacy Practice at Repatriation General Hospital, Adelaide, Australia and was awarded ‘Weary’ Dunlop Fellow in Clinical Pharmacy from the same hospital. He was also awarded with ‘Roche Products Fellowship Award 1998’ for the best research paper submitted to Board of Censors, The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia. He was a recipient of several academic and professional awards including ‘Aushada Ratna Award’ for his meritorious contributions and achievements in the field of pharmacy education. Also, he was awarded with ‘APP Innovative Researcher Award 2020’ by the Association of Pharmacy Professionals during APP 9 th Annual International Convention held during 19-20 December 2020. Also, he was awarded with 'Late Smt. V.G. Yeole Memorial Award 2005’ and 'Late Shri. Ishwar N. Hukkeri Award 2010’ for his research publications. Also, eight of his research papers have won the ‘best paper award’ in the national and international conferences.

He imparted World Health Organisation Sponsored Clinical Pharmacy Training Program toPharmacy teachers from six different universities in Sri Lanka. He has assisted Khartoum College of Medical Sciences, Khartoum, Sudan in establishing the Clinical Pharmacy Services at Bhashair Hospital. He coordinated more than sixty clinical trials of various phases in different therapeutic areas including global trials. He has authored for a textbook titled ‘Pharmacist’s Intervention on Medication Therapy: Impact on Healthcare Cost’ published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany. Also he has authored for three chapters [Drug Therapy Review, Poison Information, and Drug Information] in the second edition of the textbook titled ‘A textbook of Clinical Pharmacy Practice’. e. christi cunningham, Professor of Law and Director of Educational Right Center,School of Law, Howard University

e. christi cunningham is a professor at the Howard University School of Law and Director of the Education Rights Center (ERC). She is a graduate of Yale Law School. After law school, she served as a law clerk to the Honorable Constance Baker Motley in the Southern District of New York and was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York. She served as Associate Assistant Secretary for Regulatory Affairs at the Department of Labor as part of the Obama Administration from 2009-2012. Her teaching and research interests include Tort Law, Education Law, and systemic trauma.

Dr.BasavanaGowdappa, is currently the secretary of Mysore Physicians Medical & Research Trust (MPMRT).He has been organising annual Medicine update programs every year for the last 15 years, with lot of emphasis on clinical medicine with more of problem solving sessions and evidence based principles of medicine. These programs have helped several thousands of PG students, practicing physicians, and Family practitioners in upgrading their knowledge. He has also served as the past chairman of Association of Physicians of India (Karnataka chapter). Dr Tamara McCants, Director of Residency Programs and Practice Transformation, College of Pharmacy, Howard University, USA

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I received my Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Florida A&M University in 2001. Upon graduation I came to Washington, DC to complete a community pharmacy residency program with Grubbs Care Pharmacy and Howard University. My 20 year career has been dedicated to increasing the capacity of pharmacists to be a major contributor in the achievement of favorable health outcomes, especially for the underserved population. A recipient of the Bowl of Hyegia Award, I have always been very passionate about the community, coordinating outreach and training programs for all major disease states. In 2002, I co-founded CMS Health Initiatives; a non-profit organization that utilizes pharmacists to address health disparities in HIV/AIDS, Diabetes and Immunizations. My current practice site is a community mental health clinic where I optimize medication regimens. Recently, I have been involved in responding to the COVID-19 global pandemic by caring for vulnerable patients and coordinating testing. A staunch advocate for the profession, I am an active member of several pharmacy organization on both the local and international level. I have served on numerous committees, task force and working groups to help advance the profession. I also continue to be an active member of the FAMU Alumni Association and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Rho Mu Omega Chapter.

Michael R. Crawford, MBA, MHL Associate Dean for Strategy, Outreach, and Innovation

Mr. Crawford is currently serving as a strategic advisor to the Dean and VPCA and collaborate with the College of Medicine leadership, Hospital and Faculty Practice Plan (FPP), Legal Affairs and General Counsel, Chief Academic Officer and Provost, Real Estate Development and Asset Management, HU Board, and other leaders across campus to advance HU’s academic, health, and innovation mission.

Mr. Crawford served as the Chief of Staff at Unity Health Care, Inc. (Unity), a nonprofit network of 20 health sites with more than 1,000 employees that serves over 108,000 patients annually, and one of the largest community health center networks in the United States. In this capacity, Mr. Crawford partnered with the President and CEO on the strategic and operational management of Unity and collaborated with members of the Executive Management Team on the execution of critical enterprise-wide business initiatives to advance the organization’s mission. Michael was a member of the Executive Management Team and served as the President and CEO’s liaison between the Board of Directors, Executive Management Team, external stakeholders, government officials, funders, and staff.

Prior to Unity, Mr. Crawford held domestic and international leadership roles in strategic management, operations, strategy, finance, policy, and business development at large corporations, nonprofits, and start-ups, including Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline, and Gannett Company.

Sri Harsha, M.Pharm, PG Dip in PV, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy

Dr Sri Harsha had graduated in Pharmacy and qualified GPAT 2011, completed his master’s in pharmacy practice from JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. He is a recipient of the Frank May's gold medal in 2013 for his post-graduation performance and joined as research scholar with Department of Science and Technology’s - Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (DST-INSPIRE) fellowship.

Thereafter he started working at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru where he currently holds a position as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and instructs the subjects of Pharmacotherapeutics, Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance subjects for Pharm.D. and Post Graduate courses.

Dr Sri Harsha is having an experience in conducting various Pharmacoepidemiological studies in hospital setting. He received numerous travels grants to attend and present research papers in international conferences that are held at Ireland, Oman, Australia, Canada, Prague, Japan, and Ras Al Khaimah and has Three Best Poster awards for his work and has 32 publications including one in The New England Journal of Medicine (Impact Factor: 72) to his credit with 1569 citations and is a certified mentor with Publons (web of science).

Further, he has worked as primary clinical research coordinator for prestigious Covid vaccine trials (Covishield ® and Covovax ®) in India during 1 st and 2 nd waves of COVID-19. Currently, Dr Harsha is working on convergence of Artificial Intelligence in Pharmacovigilance to further strengthen the patient safety.

Dr Grace M. A. Jennings, Director of International Operations, Howard University, USA

Dr. Grace Jennings has worked for Howard University since December 1999. As the Director of International Operations, activates any and all administrative functions for the efficient sustainability of Howard University International (HUI) entities at the local levels. She manages Cooperative Agreements under PEPFAR for over 7 African Countries; oversees and performs specialized support functions in the areas of HR, Finance, Legal, Policy, Security, Compliance, Procurement, Contracts, Facilities, Travel Information Services, Office Management, and serves as a liaison with external and internal stakeholders at International and domestic levels in all areas of international related operations.

Additionally, Dr. Jennings serves as the point of contact, liaison, coordinator facilitator and international director for the placement of Howard University College of Pharmacy (HUCOP) students in international rotations and internships/experiential learning in over 16 countries including India, Jamaica, Ghana, Ethiopia, South Africa, Zambia, South Korea and Qatar.

Mr Duncan Ross, Chief Data Officer, Times Higher Education

He is currently Chief Data Officer for Times Higher Education (THE), helping to create new and innovative data products across the Higher Education sector. In March 2022, he was listed as one the DataIQ 100. In 2019, He launched the THE Impact Rankings, evaluating universities commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Prior to joining THE, He was Director Data Science at Teradata, with a remit across all industries and the entire international region (EMEA and APAC), and somewhat further back he was at Experian UK as their Data Director, where (amongst other things) he developed their strategic Data Council. He regularly speaks at business conferences and has several published papers on aspects of data-mining for business and in the third sector. He is strongly involved with the data philanthropy movement and is one of the founder Directors of DataKind, UK www.datakind.org.uk. His Specialities include - Data strategies, ethical data science, data-mining/advanced analytics, pre-sales expertise, analytical solution creation and design.

Dr Bhaskar Balakrishnan, Former Ambassador of India

Dr. Bhaskar Balakrishnan has been an Indian diplomat for 33 years and served as Ambassador of India to Greece, Cuba, Haiti and Dominican Republic. He has worked in several countries in Africa, Europe and Middle East and for over ten years with various UN organizations in Geneva and Vienna. He set up and headed the Investment & Technology Promotion Division of the Ministry of External Affairs concerned with promotion of foreign investment and technology flows. He was educated at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Delhi University, and Stonybrook University, New York, USA.

He has been training Indian and foreign diplomats and dealing in the areas of investment, air transport, energy and IT security whilst working with the Ministry of External Affairs in India.

He has also published a book titled “Technology and International Relations: Challenges for the 21st Century” in 2017.
