Asclepius 2021 is excited to invite you to present your fascinating research papers!

Excalibur, the research paper presentation competition is an outstanding opportunity for UG students and Interns to present their original research projects on an international level, and to receive constructive feedback from experts. The project may or may not be funded by any agency and does not necessarily need to be published in a Medical Journal.

Completed research projects that are yet to be published are welcome.

ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

• Medium - English only
• Word Limit: 250 words
• Every abstract will be reviewed by the judges and the finalists will be selected.
• Finalists will be informed of their selection well beforehand to ensure sufficient time for making the necessary arrangements.

Note

• The first page of the abstract must contain- Name of the event, Name of the sender, Name of their institution, email ID, and Conference Registration Number.
• The abstract proper needs to start from the second page.
• The PDF is to be named "Research Paper - Short title"
• E.g.: Research Paper – Resistant Tuberculosis.
• The abstract is to be submitted latest by 22nd October 2021, 11.59 PM GMT +5:30 at asclepius2k21.excalibur@jssuni.edu.in
• No extension requests will be entertained.
• Our panel of eminent judges will conduct the assessment.
• Selected participants shall be notified by an email.

Finals

• The finalists will be given 10 minutes of total presentation time consisting of 7 minutes for presenting and 3 minutes for questioning by the judges.
• The presentation must be limited to only 10 slides (strict adherence, failure to comply will result in marks deduction)
• The presentation must be in English only.
• Only one presenter can present (either the 1st or 2nd author)

DISCLAIMER

• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited, and any instance of plagiarism identified at any stage of the competition will result in immediate disqualification.
• Decisions of the judges are final and binding.
• Only the winner and runner up will receive achievement certificates.
• Undergraduate Students and Interns are welcome to participate.

EREVNA - Clinical case presentation

The clinical case presentation is a platform to exhibit the most unique and fascinating cases that you have come across in the OPDs and wards. Asclepius 2021 presents to you the moment to showcase these cases of rare diseases, commonly occurring disorders with very unusual complications and symptoms, unknown pathologies, untypical treatment or surgical approaches to the medical assembly.

RULES FOR THE PRELIMINARIES

• The event is open to all Medical UG students.
• Only single participation is allowed.
• All the participants are instructed to submit an abstract of their presentation to help shortlist the presenters.
• The abstract must include the following
  • Brief description about the case [should include descriptive history and pictures].
  • Why the case is of interest to the medical fraternity.
  • Brief description of its management.

• Word limit: 250 words.

RULES FOR PRESENTATION

• The presentation should adhere to the following guidelines
  • The presentation should be made in Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and up. No other softwares are allowed.
  • The maximum limit is 20 slides and upto 650 words.
  • The time limit is 8 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for discussion and questioning. A strict adherence to this time limit is a must, failure to do so will result in negative points.
  • The presentation will be followed by discussion and questioning session with a panel of eminent judges and audience.
  • The format of the presentation should include particulars about the patient, presenting complaints, relevant history, clinical examination, differential diagnosis, laboratory findings, management, and its course.
• Images or cases from internet, case series/case reviews are not permitted.
• Any cases of plagiarism will not be tolerated and will lead to immediate suspension from the event.
• Decision of the panel of judges is final. The organizers reserve the right to amend the above guidelines.
