Miss. Dishani Halder, a second year BDS student of JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysore has won first prize for her scientific paper presentation titled “Ethics at Dental Chair side: Professionalism or Commercialism!!” at the “UNESCO Chair in Bioethics, Asia Pacific Division’s, International Conference on Bioethics and Health Sciences—BIOETHICON-2019” held from 8th -10th November, 2019 at SRM Medical College and Research Centre, SRM IST, Chennai

Miss. Sushree Manaswinee, a second year BDS student was the co-author and she was guided by Dr. Chandrashekhar B.R. Professor and HOD, Department of Public Health Dentistry. Her presentation focused on consequences of diminishing professionalism in view of increasing commercialism. The paper also highlighted the importance of adhering to ethical principles during clinical practice with some strategic recommendations to improve the training on ethics in existing curriculum.
