A guest lecture titled, 'Finding an Academic Mentor and Applying to Graduate Programs in the United States' was conducted by the School of Public Health, JSS Medical College on 01st July 2024. Dr Javad Anjum, Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Special Education at the University of Georgia and Dr Audra Lynn Anjum, Fulbright-Nehru Scholar 2023-2024 and instructional designer at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio were the guest speakers for the session. The session guided prospective students through the essential steps of identifying and connecting with potential mentors, understanding the role they play in academic success, and crafting a strong application for graduate programs. Attendees gained practical insights into building meaningful mentor-mentee relationships, as well as strategies for presenting their academic and professional experiences to enhance their applications. The session also discussed Fulbright funding opportunities for Indian citizens.
