'The Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics organized a workshop on 'Lasers- An Emerging Trend' on May 6th 2022. The Delegates were apprised of the various applications of lasers in dentistry by Dr. Praveen Arany, Assistant Professor of Oral Biology University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, Past-President - World & North American Association for photobiomoduLation Therapy, Secretary - Wound Healing Society (WHS) & Dr. Chandrashekar Yavagal, MDS,DOrth,PhD - India’s first Laserpreneur, Internationally acclaimed Clinician, Speaker & Researcher on Lasers. Dr. Ravindra S, Principal & Dr. Chandrashekar B R, Vice Principal presided over the inaugural function as the Guests of Honour while Dr. Sachin Mangalekar, CEO Novolase Technologies, Professor and Head of Periodontics, BVP University, Sangli and Dr. Baswant Reddy, Head of Business Development, Novolase Technologies India were also present during the ceremony. The Dignitaries were greeted & welcomed by Dr. Annapoorna B M, Professor & Head, Dept. of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics & Dr. Ashwini T S, Organizing Secretary. We had around 40 participants including private practitioners, students from Dr. B R Ambedkar Dental College & Hospital, Bengaluru. Final Year BDS Students, Interns & Postgraduate Students of the Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, JSSDC&H benefitted from the workshop. A clinical demonstration on tooth bleaching using UV Light & Laser was demonstrated by Dr. Chandrashekar Yavagal during the hands-on workshop. There was an overwhelming response from the audiencewhich included 40 interns.'
