The Staffs & PGs of Department of prosthodontics organised a webinar on the theme “Oral Geriatric Gyan -2021” with the objective to create insights about oral health in geriatrics patients. The webinar was coordinated by Dr.Sowmya.S, and webinar was in collaboration with Geriatric Medicine (JSSMC). There were 195 registrations including 95 students for the webinar. The resource person for the webinar were Dr. Pratibha Pereira, Prof & HOD, Dept of Geriatric Medicine, JSSMC, Dr. Pampanagouda SKM, Consultant oncologist,Fortis Health care, Banglore ,Dr.Dhakshaini M.R.,Deputy Director (Authorities), JSSAHER and Panelists were Dr. Ganesh S ,Reader, Dept of prosthodontics ,JSSDC&H.Dr. Sanjay CJ Reader, Dept of OMR, JSSDC&H and Dr. Raghavendra Swamy KN, Professor, Dept of prosthodontics ,JSSDC&H respectively. The programme started with talk by Dr Pratibha Pereira on “Geriatricians key role in oral Health” followed by welcome address from Dr.Raghavendra Swamy KN Professor & HOD,Dept of Prosthodontics,JSSDC&H in the inaugural ceremony. The chief guest for the webinar was Dr.Kushallapa PA,Director Academics and guest of honour were Dr Ravindra S, Principal and Dr Chandrashekar B R, Vice Principal, JSSDC&H. This was followed by a talk on “Tobacco: A bane for the elderly” by Dr.Pampanagouda SKM and “Geriatric Prosthodontic care: Don’t stay unaware” by Dr. Dhakshaini M.R. There was an enriched discussion after each talk followed by question & answer session and the webinar was well appreciated by the participants and the invitees.
