7th National Symposium cum workshop on “Experimental Research and Alternates (NSWERA) 2022” was hosted by JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru in association with the Indian Pharmacological Society, India from 14th to 15th May 2022. The theme of the symposium was “Experimental Research and Alternate Animal Models and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)” and the symposium was held in a hybrid mode.
The symposium was inaugurated on 14 th May 2022 at Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. Symposium was inaugurated by Prof. Bikas Medhi, Professor of Pharmacology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and Chief Editor of the internationally reputed research journal “Indian Journal of Pharmacology”. He emphasized the importance of symposiums and their relevance in drug discovery and urged the young generation to be actively involved in the drug discovery process.
Dr. Surinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru presided over the function. He stressed upon the importance of research skills in the profession with a few live examples and urged the youths to gain research skills to excel in their professional carrier.Dr. K L Krishna, Program Coordinator briefed about the symposium and stated that about 500 delegates across the country attended two days symposium. 06 experienced inhouse speakers along with 13 eminent speakers from internationally reputed research organization like, PGIMER-Chandigarh, ICMR and AIMS New Delhi, NIN-Hyderabad and reputed Pharmaceutical industries like Dr. Reddy’s laboratory, Sanofi, Wockhardt etc. shared their research expertise. Dr. Prashanth Vishwanath, Director, Research, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru proposed the vote of thanks.
The valedictory function was held on 15 th May and Dr. G V Pujar, Vice Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru welcomed the guests for the valedictory function. The chief guest for this event was Prof. Bikas Medhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh expressed his happiness about organizing two days symposium. He thanked JSS AHER and the organizing committee for nicely organizing the event in a short period of time. Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru presided over the function. He congratulated the team of the organizing committee and expressed thanks to IPS for giving an opportunity to host 2 days Symposium.
