Dr. Usha Hegde, became the first Mysore Woman to achieve the title of IRONMAN, a one day endurance event consisting of 3.8kms swim in open water, followed by 180kms of cycling and to end with 42.2kms of run. All the three events to be completed one after the other in a cutoff time of 17 hours.

She completed the challenge in 14 hours 30 minutes and 24 seconds on Dec 1st at Busselton, Western Australia.

She is ranked 1st in the whole country for the year 2019 by Ironman, with a total points of 2320.
