The Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, JSS Dental College and Hospital- A constituent college of Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeshwara University, Mysuru organized

“Oral Pathology Day” celebration on 4th March 2020. The Chief guest for the programme was Dr. Archana Mukunda, Professor, Dept of Oral Pathology and Microbiology, Royal Dental College, Chalissery, Keralawho also delivered a guest lecture titled: “Oral Pathology Importance in Clinical Dentistry”

A total of 88 delegates took part in the programme. Competitive events were organized for the Under graduate students. The events were: E-Poster and Special stains photo frame competition for 3rd year BDS students; Soap Carving, H and E Sketching and Quiz for 1st year BDS students.

A valedictory function was organized presided by Dr. Anil Kumar Gujjari Professor, Dept of Prosthodontics, Dr. Usha Hegde Professor and Head, Department of Oral Pathology and Microbiology and Dr. Archana Mukunda. Cake cutting ceremony was organized to commemorate the programme.

Winners of the competitive events were awarded. BDS I and III-year Students who secured highest marks in the annual examinations for the academic year 2018-19 were awarded. Best Dental Anatomy carving and Best histology record diagrams awards were conferred to BDS I year students and Best Oral Pathology record diagrams awards were conferred to BDS III students. The judges for the competitive events were also felicitated.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks speech by the organizing secretary Dr. Usha Hegde.
