NSS Cell, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru under the umbrella of National Service Scheme celebrated NSS Day and Inauguration of Golden Jubilee celebration of NSS from 29th Sep to 1st Oct 2018 by various activities. NSS Unit of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru organized all the activities on behalf of University in association with all NSS Units. Blood donation camp was organized on Saturday, 29th Sep 2018 at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru from 10 am to 1 pm. Dr. Pallavi, Blood Bank Officer of JSS Hospital organized the camp activities. About 88 units of blood were collected. On the same day, from 2 to 4 pm Drawing and painting completion was held at JSS College of Pharmacy, Seminar hall on the theme of Swachh hi seva program. NSS Volunteers of JSS Medical College, JSS Dental College and Hospital, JSS College of Pharmacy, Faculty of Life Sciences, Faculty of Health System Management studies participated in the competition. The winners were given the prizes and certificates on NSS day celebrations i.e. on 1st Oct 2018. Sunday, 30th Sep 2018 from morning 6 to 8 am a Clean Chamundi Hill; Make it plastic free camp was organized at Chamundi hill jointly by NSS Unit of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru and Clean Mysuru Foundation, Mysuru. This program is to make awareness about hazardous of use of plastics, a street play and rally will be done in the chamundi hill to create awareness about cleanliness and not to use the plastics. About 300 NSS volunteers of JSS Academy of higher Education & research and volunteers Clean Mysuru Foundation, Mysuru participated in the program. Three areas were identified to clean and make free of plastics, they are Nandi statue area, View Point area and Thavare kere area. On the same day from morning 6 to 8 am Health screening camp for the residents of Chamundi Hill as well as morning walkers is also arranged. Health checkup for Blood pressure, diabetes and Body Mass Index were done for free of cast. The Health screening camp was organized in association with Dept. of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. NSS Day and Inauguration of Golden Jubilee celebrations of NSS was held on 1st Oct 2018 at 3 pm in the Sri Rajendra Auditorium, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru presided over the function. Awards for Best NSS Volunteers of University 2017-18 were given and since JSS Academy of Higher education & Research celebrating its 10th Year of existence, the NSS Officers who served NSS were felicitated in the function. All the Principals of constituent colleges of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research and coordinators of University Department were present in the functions as guests of Honors.
