The World Pharmacist Day was celebrated by IPA, Nilgiris Local Branch on 25th September 2017 on theme: “From Research to Health Care: Your pharmacist is at your service” to create awareness about the pharmacy profession among general public. In this context, a human chain was observed by more than 700 student pharmacists, faculty pharmacists and practicing pharmacists from both community and hospital set-up in the district of Nilgiris. The office bearers and members of Chemists and Druggists Association of Nilgiris were also invited to support this professional task. On the same day about 45 student pharmacists in 15 groups worked in identified community pharmacies both in urban and rural areas and provided various pharmaceutical care services like patient counselling, health screening, etc. As a unique activity to attract the attention of general public, about 500 student pharmacists made a formation of Tablet and capsule in a ground situated at the heart of the Ooty town which was well received, recognized and published by media.
