ABOUT THE SESSION: The session started at 12PM. The speaker was welcomed by Dr.Vikas Jain. The speaker delivered a talk on translation science and its importance.He briefed about the four important steps involved in the translation science and how these stepscontribute during the transformation of the product developed at lab scale till its marketing. The four steps includes: 1. Great idea 2. Broad blocking patent 3. A publication in a top journal 4. Great team He briefed each step with a few examples taken from his own research experience that involves: 1. Development of antibacterial paints using silver nanoparticles (not so successful story because of the lack of great team and broad blocking patent) 2. Cleaning of oil spills (intermediate success)and 3. Treating contact dermatitis and heavy metal scavenging cream, a successful story. He also briefed time taken for the science translation. The session concluded at 1:30 PM with a Question and Answer roundclearing many of the doubts. The session was interesting and motivating. Around 45 students attended the session and faculty members from life sciences took participation.
