Report on Guest Lecture on ‘FDC – Science, Regulations and Practice in India’ Department of Pharmacy Practice in association with Pharmacy Education Unit (PEU) of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru organized a Guest Lecture on ‘FDC – Science, Regulations and Practice in India’ on 9th March 2019 at Seminar Hall, Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. Dr. Atmaram Pawar, Vice-Principal & Head (Pharm.D), Poona College of Pharmacy, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune was the speaker. The objective of this lecture was to make the students aware about the recent updates on Fixed Drug Combinations (FDC) in India. During this lecture, Dr. Atmaram Pawar explained about the concept of FDC, merits and demerits of FDC, and ideal requirements of FDC. He also briefed about sequence of events happened recently in India on banning of FDC. At the end of his presentation, Dr. Atmaram Pawar highlighted the importance of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI) in monitoring adverse drug reactions for FDC and providing the information to Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) for taking the necessary action. Staff and students (M.Pharm and V & VI year Pharm.D) of Department of Pharmacy Practice attended the guest lecture. At the end of the session, participants got an opportunity to interact with the speaker and clarify their doubts
