A guest lecture on “Transdermal drug delivery system” was held on 20th July 2019, from 11.00 am to 12.00 pm in seminar hall, JSS college of pharmacy, Mysuru. This lecture was especially organized for the M.Pharm. I year, Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy students. The Speaker for the lecture was Dr. Sreenivasa Reddy, General Manager, Formulation, INM Technology Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru. Dr. D.V. Gowda, Head, Department of Pharmaceutics, JSSCP, Musuru, felicitated Dr. Sreenivasa for the Guest Lecture. Dr. Vikas Jain, introduced the speaker and the topic of the lecture to the students. Dr. Sreenivasa explained about basics of transdermal drug delivery system. He emphasized beautifully how transdermal patches are working currently in drug delivery and what potential they possess in order to meet the current challenges in delivering various drug molecules across the skin. He also prompted the audience to interact and discuss the challenges they use to face during their routine experimentations. The speaker also emphasized on the practices followed at the industrial scale and challenges faced in the routine operation during development of transdermal patches. All the students and faculties provided positive feedback on the talk and resolved their queries in an interactive session, at the end.
