JSS College of pharmacy Mysuru, faculty members Dr. B M Gurupadayya, Dr. Chandan R S, Mr. Hemanth Kumar S and Mr. Mahendran B were deputed to undergo Laboratory Quality Management and Internal Audit: ISO/IEC 17025:2017 training by JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru as per the Order NO. REG/EST-I(5)/PCM/119/2011-12/2018-19/11103 dated 25/02/2019. The training was organized by Brainwave consultants, Chennai at Hotel Trinity ISLE, Bangalore from 1st to 4th March 2019. The training was attended by more than 25 participants from different parts of India, representing both Government and Private sector laboratories from Engineering, Metallurgy, Physical and Chemical testing background. The training course module included basic Quality concepts, understanding management and technical requirements, documentation – structuring and developing Quality Manual / procedures, Internal Audit, Process of accreditation as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The training included both lecture presentations followed by practical exercises and group discussions. The training provided an insight on the basic necessary requirements be in form of infrastructure, organizational setup, customer service, purchase and procurement, administration and technical requirements essential for filing for NABL accreditation. The training was fruitful and helped in acquiring preliminary knowledge on the process and procedure for NABL accreditation of JSS Drug Testing Laboratory, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. The faculty members thank the Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysore and JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru for providing an opportunity to undergo the training programme.
