Good research is meaningless unless findings are communicated in a clear and interesting fashion. Though, performing a research study is challenging in itself, writing it for publication is equally challenging as well. The work that is unpublished in one form or the other is essentially incomplete or undone. Hence, it is critically important for one to publish one's findings in a reputed journal. In the current scenario a researcher should be competent not only in design and execution of research project but also be able to communicate it effectively. With this background, the department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru had organized one day seminar on 18th December 2017 on “Scientific Communication” with the objective to impart the knowledge on the importance of scientific publication and essentials of grant writing. Dr. Sumanth MM, Associate Professor, Mysore Medical College and Dr. Praveen Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, JSS Medical College, Mysuru were the resource persons. Dr. T. M. Pramodkumar, Principal, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, along with invited speakers- inaugurated the event. The topics such as importance of Scientific Communication, Writing Materials and Methods, Project Management, Writing Results and Discussion, Publication ethics, how to write a grant proposal etc were dealt during the workshop. More than 50 faculty and research scholars from different colleges in and around Mysore participated in the workshop.
