The clicker training programme was conducted on 1st and 2nd Aug 2018 at JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. The clicker training program was conducted by Turning point Technology professionals. The training program insights the use of clicker towards better teaching methodology. The trainer Mr. SelvaKumar G., representing the Turning technology, Chennai was here as trainer to provide training to the teaching faculties of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru and JSS Dental College, Mysuru. He highlighted importance of clicker in teaching learning methodology, by explaining common steps that needs to be followed whenever this technique is applied The procedure of Clickers: • Installation of the Turning point software in the computer system. • Preparation of the Microsoft office presentation for multiple choice questions or objective structured questions. • The receiver needs to be connected to the computer system via USB port. • Logging of the individual clickers and registration of the same. • Turning on the clickers to answering mode. • Running of the questioners and allowing for the participants to respond using the registered clickers. • The pedagogy has more significance with respect to multiple choice questions or objective type of questions. • Post questioners, the software exhibit the correct answers with statistics of the responds. Indicating the time taken to answer, how many answers were correct etc. The training program was conducted in two sessions, the forenoon session was held from 10.00 AM to 12.30 PM and afternoon session from 2.00 PM to 4.30 PM. On the second day, 2nd Aug 2018, a demo program was conducted for the Pharm. D students. Around hundred participants experienced the practical usability of the clickers. The students expressed that usage of clickers in teaching and learning process would be helpful in preparing for competitive examination. They also expressed that the usage of the clickers in regularly classes would create more interest and awareness. The participants including both teachers and students appreciated the use of clickers and expressed that it would be beneficial in the learning outcome if it is regularly used in our teaching classes.
