Department of Pharmacy Practice in association with Pharmacy Education Unit (PEU) of JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru organized an User Orientation Program on ‘MedicinesComplete, an online database to access some of the world's leading drug and healthcare references, on 25th August 2018 at Seminar Hall, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru. Mr. Ravi Shankar, Training Consultant, Informatics Publishing Ltd., Bangalore was the speaker for the program. The objective of this guest lecture was to stimulate the faculty and research scholars for effective usage of MedicinesComplete database in their regular practice and research. Mr. Ravi Shankar started lecture with introducing the MedcinesComplete database and its implications in practice and research. He mentioned that the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research is having subscription for nine publications of MedicinesComplete like AHFS Drug Information, BNF, BNF for Children, Clarke’s Analysis of Drugs and Poisons, Handbook on Injectable Drugs, Injectable Drug Guide, Martindale: The Complete Drug Reference, Pharmaceutical Excipients, and Stockley’s Drug Interactions. After the presentation, Mr. Ravi Shankar shown the live demo of searching information in MedicinesComplete and its output. He highlighted one of the important features of MedicinesComplete that search can give the relevant results from all the subscribed publications along with references, users can take the necessary information from a suitable publication. Faculty and Research Scholars attended the program and benefited from this session.
