Report on Health Screening Camp Conducted on 21st September 2017 Department of Pharmacy Practice, JSS College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, organized a Free Health Screening Camp for the public of Mysuru on 21st September 2017 at three different venues namely Balbhavan, Chamundi hills footsteps and Lalithmahal gate. The aim of the health screening camp was to sensitize the general public about the importance of undergoing regular health check up so as to detect the chronic diseases such as Diabetes and Hypertension at the early stage itself for the better control on such chronic diseases. During the camp, blood glucose testing and blood pressure measurement were carried out. A total of 273 people (Balbhavan: 93; Chamundi hills foot steps: 64; Lalithmahal gate: 116) were monitored for their blood pressure and blood glucose levels. During the health screening, 89 people were found with elevated blood glucose level and 35 people were found with elevated levels of blood pressure. All those people who were identified with elevated levels of blood pressure and blood glucose levels were suggested to consult a doctor for further screening and possible diagnosis. First year students of postgraduate pharmacy practice and VI Pharm.D students actively participated in the camp and provided the health screening and counseling services
