NSS Activities
22nd June 2017: International yoga day rally was conducted to create awareness among public in and around Ootacamund. The rally started from our college and was concluded at ATC which was accompanied by our principal DR.S.P.Dhanapal. It was programmed along with BNYS students of JSS INYS and various slogans and placards were also displayed.
15th July 2017: Outreach program was conducted at the adopted village at Nedugalcombai and Veeracombai by the NSS volunteers from JSSCP, Ooty. The Superintendent of police Mr.Murali Ramba IPS was the chief guest and distributed blankets and stationary to the school children of the tribal village..
24th July 2017: Enrollment of new NSS volunteers
27th July 2017: The death anniversary of our past president DR.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was commemorated as a silent procession by the students and faculty members of JSSCP, Ooty
06th August 2017: The Swatch Bharath program was initiated by our principal at the college campus. An oath on keeping our country clean was taken and was initiated by cleaning the campus
15th August 2017: Independence Day was celebrated at the college campus. Flag hoisting was by NSS Program officer and by chief guest DR. Bhaskar Balakrishnan (Ambassador of India to Greece) and patriotic speech, patriotic song was performed by the NSS volunteers and sweet distribution was also held.
19th August 2017: Orientation for the NSS volunteers and students participated in the campaign for save our rivers, organized by our JSS University accompanied with Isha Yoga, Coimbatore.
02nd & 3rd September 2017:NSS Students participated in organizing the conference conducted by the Quality circle forum of India. About 1000 delegates participated in this conference.
04th-15th September 2017:The Swachchata Pakhwada campaign was conducted. Under this campaign various competitions like elocution and essay writing were also conducted.
13th & 23rd September 2017: Save our river campaign was conducted. About 30 NSS students volunteered themselves to clean the water reservoirs in the reserve forests of Tiger hills. The program was jointly carried out with the local municipal councilor Mr. Sampath. The principal and few faculty members also joined the campaign.
24th September 2017: The NSS day was celebrated. Personality development program was conducted for the NSS volunteers and lecturer was delivered by Mr.Babu CEO IWIS Group Ooty on “Leadership motivation program”. About 100 NSS volunteers participated
25th September 2017: World Pharmacist day. Participated in the human chain, from commercial road to ATC bus stand Ootacamund. Capsule symbol was displayed/demonstrated by the NSS volunteers at Shanthi Vijay school ground Ootacamund.
13th October 2017:Safe hand wash awareness campaign was conducted at Manjakombai and Nedugulkombai trible village school.Demostration was given to students and village people on cleaniness and pamphlets were issued by the NSS volunteers.Dengu awareness was also initiated to the village people by the NSS volunteers
24th & 25th October 2017: An dengu awareness campaign was carried out at kandal and kumaran nagar area.The NSS volunteers made a door to door campaign and creating an awareness on cleanliness and proper storage of water. The program was jointly carried out by the Red cross of JSSCPO and ooty municipal officers.
10th November 2017:Blood donation camp was organized jointly with Youth Red Cross.
1st December 2017: Conducted world aids day awareness program by distributing the pamphlets to the public in and around ooty town. 25 NSS volunteers participated in the event and distributed pamphlets
25th January 2018: Participated in the rally on account of National voters day celebration. The rally was flagged off by the district collector Mrs.Innocent Divya IAS. About 100 NSS volunteers participated in the rally concluded at HADP auditorium were cultural program and speech was organized and two of the NSS volunteers bagged the prize in speech
26th January 2018: Celebrated 68th Republic day. Dr.Suresh Kumar Director TIFAC core JSS college of pharmacy,Ooty was the chief guest of the day. Flag hoisting, speech and patriotic song by volunteers and sweet distribution were the events of the day.
31st January 2018:Participated in the Thaipposam at Elk Hill Murugan temple in an attempt to regularize the traffic and pilgrims. About 20 NSS Volunteers participated in the event
4th – 9th March 2018:Conducted special camp at Thengumarahada village. 50 NSS volunteers and two staffs accompanied the group. Cleaning the primary school campus, water canal, planting new slapping and medical camp
